Prosthodontists are dentists who specialize in the replacement
and restoration of teeth. The dental degree of prosthodontics
is undertaken after the completion of four years of dental
school. Prosthodontists receive an additional two years
of specialized training in an American Dental Association
(ADA) accredited graduate education program. The ADA recognizes
nine dental specialties, one of which is prosthodontics.
A special understanding of the creation of tooth replacements,
the dynamics of a smile and the preservation of a healthy
mouth is achieved through the rigorous training and experience
prosthodontists receive. Serving as the "architect"
of your dental treatment plan, prosthodontists collaborate
with other dentists and specialists to develop solutions
to your dental concerns.
